26th IVAS World Congress
() World Congress on Veterinary Acupuncture & Related Techniques, Vienna, August 23 - 26, 2000
Medical acupuncture is a worldwide permanently growing part of both, human and veterinary medicine. Times of only empirical reports have passed by and there is a more and more growing need for an update and enlarging of our knowledge in the scientific basics and issues of acupuncture and related techniques.
In this context we also have to realize the constantly increasing group of non-medical "healers" especially in the fields of complementary medicine. As long as most of the Universities are full of scepticism against the benefits of acupuncture and its diagnostic and therapeutic relevance it will remain an "alternative" method. This is the second reason for updating the existing facts and the call for consequent serious research.
So we are happy to offer you not only a visit of Vienna, a city of great cultural and medical history, but also the possibility to discuss the state of the art and newest findings in the field of acupuncture and related techniques at our new University in the millennium year 2000!
Looking forward to see You, with cordial greetings from Vienna
Kurt Ganzberger, DVM, PhD, CVA, FTA
Oswald Kothbauer, DVM, PhD, Univ.Prof., FTA
Andreas Zohmann, DVM, PhD, Univ.Lect., FTA
