5th International Symposium on Physiology, Behaviour and Conservation of Wildlife

Dear Colleague,
On behalf of the Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (IZW) and the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) I wish to extend a cordial invitation to you to participate in the 5th International Symposium on Physiology, Behaviour and Conservation of Wildlife, between 26th and 29th of September 2004.
The Symposium will be held in Berlin, in the Conference Centre "Hotel Mercure Berlin Tempelhof Airport".
The focus of the Symposium will be:
* Management of Captive and Small Populations
* Stress & Disturbance
* Behaviour
* Reproduction Biology
* Wildlife Conservation
The topics for the workshops with their preliminary titles will be:
* Animal Welfare and Conservation
* Olfactory Communication in Mammals
* Chronoethology - Chronoecology
* Ultrasonography in Conservation Biology
* Laboratory workshop: Non-invasive monitoring of hormones
* Behavioural and hormone-mediated maternal effects
The Conference Centre will provide a friendly and relaxed environment with facilities for sports and wellness, including fitness room, sauna, solarium and vitarium. For those who wish to experience the vibrant cultural life of Berlin, there are frequent short connections to the city centre on the subway. Berlin offers world famous sites of contemporary and classical architecture, museums, art galleries, two zoos and much more.
